Five things to know about the PMC for April 22, 2021

COVID-19 Update

All COVID protocols continue and all staff and crew are healthy. Assuming that continues, there will not be further COVID updates unless notable changes occur.

The sales season is winding down and that means that it is time for the annual Cooler Blow-Out Sale. It is an across-the-board percentage discount based upon the dollar volume of the sale:

  • $300 – $500 orders receive 10% off
  • $500 – $1,000 orders receive 15% off
  • Over $1,000 orders receive 20% off

There are still a variety of species available in the cooler that are ready to go.  Please contact us to learn more.

Just a reminder that PMC Sales Manager Jess Oman has submitted her resignation. She will be working from home on a part-time basis as we wind down the sales season.  If you knows someone that might be interested in sales at a long-established conservation nursery with a solid reputation, please contact us to learn more. You can also refer them to the job announcement at https://hub.wadistricts.org/2021/04/great-career-opportunity-in-conservation-nursery-plant-sales/.

Irrigation

The unseasonably dry weather recently has led to an earlier than usual start of the irrigation season. That involved laying out 16 – 800-foot-long rows of 3” x 30’ aluminum handlines, flushing them out, running the system, clearing the clogged nozzles, and fixing broken sprinkler heads. The PMC has a certified water right to run three irrigation wells which can be used individually or in combination with each other.  This system can irrigate approximately 22 acres in a single three-pump set and that is a very nice capability indeed.

Happy Earth Day

For many of us, every day is Earth Day, but it is important to take a day to focus on what that means to us in the conservation community. While our work is diverse and often unseen, it is helping achieve a healthier and more sustainable environment. Please take time to appreciate the natural world around us and give yourselves and each other a well-deserved pat on the back. Thanks for all you do!

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
