Summit on Wind, Water, and Wildfire

Throughout May, NACD will host several summits related to Wind, Water & Wildfire, and conservation district engagement with the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy. The strategy provides opportunities for partners to work collaboratively among all stakeholders and across all landscapes, using best science, to make meaningful progress towards three goals:

1. Resilient Landscapes
2. Fire Adapted Communities
3. Safe and Effective Wildfire Response

On May 6, 7:30-2 PM Pacific time, virtually join several speakers from across the West to network and discuss the role of conservation districts (CDs) and partners in addressing the goals of the strategy, as well as how they are already engaged in addressing devastating fires and other extreme events. Districts, federal and local partners from Oregon, California, Idaho, Washington and several of NACD’S Southwest Region states will be present to share examples of successful projects and to dialogue about ways CDs may increase their visibility in this realm.
